Location and Building: Torquay, Torquay resort
Currently under construction and due to be completed in September. The resort includes apartments, 50 metre pool, restaurant, bar etc. as well as a substantial up market retirement village for people 55 years old +.
Shown here is a steel column both in a vertical and horizontal position. One supporting roof loads the other part of the floor system.
There are numerous structural system used in this building as shown here there are both steel and concrete used in a composite system. Also shown is a large cleat.
These photos show the roof members, including purlins, sarking, insulation and safety mesh.
This photo shows the internal wall structure, which is steel.
As shown concrete has been used for the walls and floors.
