These sketches represent more refined ideas for the construction of the major project how every element connects together or an idea of how they are connected together.
Some sizes are also included some are just standard sizes but some are referenced from steel spanning tables etc. Mostly I started off with the initial sketch of the detail then I got specific sizes for all the elements then redrew the detail again. Included in the pictures below are sketches of the following:

The sketches directly above are views at either end of the structure and how the roof elements connect to the wall members.
To get the specific sizes for all the members I referred to lecture notes, reference files on DSO on projects, also steel product brochures as well as other projects that are portal frame construction.

Don't waste time worrying about me,ber sizes. The main thing is what type of steel beam/column Frank would typically use. The photos you brought to class illustrated these. Study them.R.K.
